The Course
- How to find any type of doctor the right way----with “personal checks” (recommendations from friends, family and co-workers) and “paper checks” (online credentials verification).
- How to get ready for any doctor visit in just a few minutes---- Preparation is important because time is so limited. One study showed that 20 minutes after a visit, the majority of patients could not remember what the doctor’s advice was. This course shows them how to take notes so that they can remember later.
- The four building blocks of a doctor visit---- the anatomy of a doctor visit. Patients can’t get good care if they don’t know what good care is.
How to manage the most common situations which slow or stop patients in communicating with their physicians. How to deal with the most common dilemmas patients face---second opinion requests, for instance. How to say anything to almost any doctor----sample scripts included. How patients can participate in their care as fully as they are able, from diagnosis to treatment.
